Privacy Policy

Staff Buddy is built for event staffing agencies and the people who work the shifts. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little — some analytics about how the site is used, some measurement of the ads that bring people here, and whatever you choose to send us.

Who we are

“Staff Buddy” (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates this website and the Staff Buddy product. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at hi@staffbuddy.io.

Information we collect

Staff Buddy is currently in pre-launch. The product is not yet generally available, and we do not store personal user data through the product at this time. The only information we collect is what you choose to send us:

• Contact details — if you book a call or email us, we receive your name, email address, and anything else you include in your message. To book a call you enter your email address before the scheduler opens; we receive that address even if you do not go on to pick a time, and we use it to follow up about the call.
• Analytics and advertising data — we use Google Analytics and PostHog to understand how the site is used, and the Meta Pixel to measure the ads that bring people here from Facebook and Instagram. Between them these tools record things like the pages you view, your approximate location (derived from your IP address), your device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. They set cookies and process an online identifier, which may be considered personal data. See “Cookies, analytics, and advertising” below.

We do not collect special-category data, and we do not buy personal information from third parties.

How we use information

We use the information you give us to:

• Respond to your enquiries and schedule calls;
• Tell you about the product as it nears launch, if you have asked us to;
• Improve the website and understand what is useful.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We should be straight with you about one thing, though: the Meta Pixel passes information about your visit to Meta, so that we can measure our ads and so that Meta can show them to people like you. Under several US state privacy laws — California’s included — that counts as sharing personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. You can stop it at any time; see “Cookies, analytics, and advertising” below.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

We use three tools. All of them set cookies, and all of them can be switched off.

• Google Analytics (provided by Google) and PostHog (a product analytics service) — these measure how visitors use the site: which pages you visit, your approximate location derived from your IP address, and your device and browser. PostHog data is processed on EU servers.
• Meta Pixel (provided by Meta Platforms) — this is an advertising and retargeting cookie, and we want to be plain about that. It tells us which visits came from our Facebook and Instagram ads, and it lets Meta show our ads to you, and to audiences resembling you, on its platforms.

When these tools run depends on where you are, because the law does too:

• In the EU, the EEA, and the UK — nothing runs until you press “Accept” in the cookie banner. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics or advertising cookie is ever set.
• Everywhere else — these tools start when the page loads, and the banner says so. Press “Decline” and we stop collecting and delete the Meta Pixel cookies already set on your device.

To decide which of those applies, we read the country your visit comes from via our hosting provider, Cloudflare. We only ever look at the country, never a precise location, and we remember the answer in your browser so we do not have to ask again. If we cannot tell where you are, we apply the stricter rule and ask you first.

We also honour the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser sends it, we treat that as a decline, wherever in the world you are.

You can change your mind at any time. Your choice is remembered, and you can revisit it however you prefer:

• Use the Cookie settings link in the footer to bring the banner back;
• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings — the site will still work;
• Install Google’s Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on;
• Change your Meta ad preferences to control how Meta uses your data to target ads.

How we share information

We share information with service providers that help us run our business — our email provider, Web3Forms (which delivers the booking form to our inbox), Calendly (which schedules the call), Google Analytics, PostHog, and Meta — and only as needed for them to perform their service. These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States; where that happens we rely on the safeguards those providers put in place. We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not sell your personal information for money, though the Meta Pixel does involve “sharing” it for advertising, as described above.

Data retention

We keep the messages and contact details you send us only for as long as needed to respond and to stay in touch about the product, then we delete them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to ask us to stop contacting you. To exercise any of these rights, email hi@staffbuddy.io and we will take care of it.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the limited information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

Children

Staff Buddy is a tool for businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be made clear on this page.
